1996 3.0L Mercury Villager Timing Specs

    • The Ford Motor Company began marketing the Mercury Villager minivan for the 1993 model year. The product of a partnership between Ford and Japanese automaker Nissan, the Villager was produced through the 2002 model year. As part of the model's first generation, the 1996 Villager came in GS, LS trim levels, as well as a luxury Nautica edition. All trim levels of the Villager shared the same timing specifications.

    Engine

    • The 1996 Mercury Villager came equipped with a 3.0-liter V-6 engine with 151 horsepower at 4,800 rpm. The engine produces a maximum torque of 174 ft.lbs at 4,400 rpm.     Tune Up Specifications

    • The 1996 Mercury Villager 3.0-liter engine has a firing order of 1-2-3-4-5-6. The spark plug gap is .031-.035 inches. The fuel pump pressure is 43 psi, with the key on and the engine off. The idle speed is 700 to 800 rpm. The idle speed cannot be adjusted manually and is controlled by the powertrain control module (PCM). The correct timing is 13-17 degrees before top dead center. The Villager has hydraulic valves.

    Exterior

    • The 1996 Mercury Villager has an overall length of 189.9 inches, a width of 73.8 inches, a height of 66 inches and a wheelbase of 112.2 inches. The front and rear track measures 63.4 inches. The cargo trim model with an automatic transmission has a curb weight of 3,650 lbs. The curb weight of wagon trim models equipped with an automatic transmission is 4,015 lbs. The 1996 Villager had three doors and came fitted with 205/75R15 tires. Models equipped with an option trailer towing package had a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.

    Interior

    • The 1996 Mercury Villager seats up to seven adults. Maximum cargo capacity is 126.4 cubic feet and the maximum payload is 1,200 pounds.The front legroom is 39.9 inches, while rear legroom is 34.8 inches. Optional upgrades included leather seats, moon-roof or sunroof and premium stereo with CD player and changer.
