How to Get BlackBerry 8110 Updates
- 1). Check your operating system version on your BlackBerry Pearl 8110. Open the "Options" application then go to "About." The third line down will tell you your OS version number. This number is important so that you know if your Pearl 8110 needs an upgrade or not.
- 2). Download and install the BlackBerry Desktop Software to your computer from BlackBerry.com (see Resources for the link.) This software will allow your computer to update your BlackBerry 8110.
- 3). Download the latest operating system version for your BlackBerry Pearl 8110 from your carrier's website to your computer. Visit the "Upgrade Your OS" link in References to view links to operating system download pages for BlackBerry all carriers.
- 4). Run the operating system installation software after you download it. Follow the prompts until it installs then open the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
- 5). Plug your BlackBerry 8110 into your computer using the BlackBerry's USB cable. The BlackBerry Desktop Software will take a moment to recognize your BlackBerry 8110. Then it will check for updates and inform you that there is a new operating system it can install to your BlackBerry.
- 6). Install the update to your BlackBerry 8110 by clicking "Update Now." Follow the two prompts by clicking "Next" twice then clicking "Finish" to begin installing the operating system.
