Fairfield Resorts Corporate Information
- Fairfield Resorts began with Fairfield Communities when C. Randolph Warner purchased 4,000 acres in 1966 in Arkansas. He named the first community Fairfield Bay. Additional properties were built throughout the country under the Fairfield name.
- The first Fairfield timeshare properties were called FairShare and they were developed as a new kind of vacation ownership in 1979. Sales of FairShares brought Fairfield Resorts value to $16 million in 1984.
- Financial problems plagued Fairfield Resorts after C. Randolph Warner's retirement in 1984. He returned to the company and build up the timeshare properties. In 2001, Fairfield became part of Cendant Corporation.
- In 2006, Cendant acquired the Wyndham brand and Fairfield Resorts merged with Wyndham Vacation Resorts. They created the world's largest timeshare company.
- Wyndham Vacation Resorts is part of Wyndham Vacation Ownership, a subsidiary of Wyndham Worldwide. The corporate headquarters for Wyndham Vacation Ownership is in Orlando, Florida.
