Hi. My name is Alex Cecilio. I'm going to show you how to join brush strokes in Illustrator. So, the first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to go here to this window and I'm going to go to my paint brush tool and that is right next to your paint brush or right next to your paint brush, or right next to your pencil tool. Make sure your stroke is filled in and not your fill. Then you can start drawing. So I'm just going to go ahead and write out my name because there is a couple of intersections like that one and that one. All right. The issue that you're going to have when you're joining any kind of brush strokes is when you select part of the image, part of it's going to leave behind. There's two ways to fix this. If you're done and you're fully satisfied with what you've drawn, select everything. Make sure you draw a giant square around the entire image. Go to object and group. And that way the next time you decide to move it, it'll move the entire shape. But there are ways to, you can also do the same thing, select it, select all of it, go to object, path, which is right below slice and join. And sometimes you don't always want to do this. In this case it's OK because it's cursive, but if you're doing you know, just regular print, this is not OK. So, you're going to want to do the object, the group objects one. And I think honestly it's better to do it with group because if you decide you don't like the way something is, you can always ungroup it. You can go to go to object and that's actually only group it, and I'm going to go to object ungroup and then I'll be able edit it without you know, move it, have it be all of the same thing.
