Kitchen Appliances: Refrigerators

103 12
Refrigerator shopping can be quite a chore! It seems like nowadays, there are far more choices then there has ever been.
When you are at your local kitchen appliance store, it seems as though fridge sizes and styles go on for aisles! So what may be the best way to narrow down your choices to ensure you are getting what you want? First, you need to figure out the style you seek.
Do you want your freezer to be attached to your fridge? If so, do you want to be able to open it from the bottom or do you want to be able to open it from the top? Or would you possibly opt for a fridge and freezer side by side? Next, once you choose that, you must decide on how you would like to be able to open your actual refrigerator door.
The door can either swing out completely from one side of the fridge, or you can opt for the double-door setup that both swing open from the middle.
After you make these decisions, you must then choose a color.
Choosing a color can be quite easy if you know what you want the color schematics of your kitchen to be over all.
If you are opting for an airy, light feel, you may want to opt for a white or crème colored fridge.
If you are thinking a more modern feel, with granite countertops and state of the art appliances, choosing something darker, like a shade of dark grey or black may be a better fit.
Refrigerators are also offered with a dark or lighter titanium steel color finish.
Of course, if none of these colors suite your needs, there are places you can go to get your fridge custom made.
Do you want it to be bright red, green, yellow, or blue? This is possible, but you most likely won't be able to find these color options in your local kitchen appliance store.
Custom refrigerators do tend to cost even more then some of the nicest refrigerators available.
Price is another factor in purchasing a refrigerator.
You need to be able to answer the following two questions.
1) How much would you like to spend on your new fridge? 2) How much are you willing to spend on your new fridge? Derived from the answers of these two questions comes your budget.
Refrigerators are one of the bigger purchases most people make within their home.
They start out at right under $1,000.
You'll be lucky if you are able to find one in the $700 neighborhood; that is definitely a great deal! There are other cool features that a fridge can include, like temperature adjustment, lighting fixtures inside the fridge, and you can even install an alarm that beeps if the doors are not fully closed.
But depending on the style you seek, the color you want, and any other fancy factors, then the price of your fridge can climb its way well into the thousands.
