How to Keep Ripe Avocados
- 1). Store ripe uncut avocados in the refrigerator for two to four days.
- 2). Sprinkle cut avocado with lemon or lime juice and place it in an airtight container or cover it tightly with plastic wrap. Use the cut avocado within three days. Scrape off any brown areas before using the avocado.
- 3). Freeze ripe avocados that you will not use within a few days. Peel and pit the avocados and puree in them in a blender or food processor along with a tablespoon of lemon or lime juice per avocado. Put the avocado puree in a freezer bag or airtight freezer container. Use frozen avocado within four to five months.
