Homemade Outdoor Canopy
- 1). Cut the bottom of four bamboo poles at an angle with a jigsaw. Start from the bottom of each pole and cut upward about two inches.
- 2). Drive one of these poles into the ground using a rubber mallet.
- 3). Attach the corner of a drop cloth to a bamboo pole using twine. Bring the twine through the grommet in the drop cloth and secure to the pole. Without cutting the twine, pull it down from the top of the pole at an angle and tie the other end to a tent stake. Drive the stake into the ground with the rubber mallet.
- 4). Move to the corner of the drop cloth opposite the first pole and pull the drop cloth down until it is almost flat. Repeat the process of driving another bamboo pole into the ground using the mallet and tying the drop cloth to the pole. Stretch the twine at an angle to the ground, tie the other end to a tent stake and use the mallet to anchor the tent stake in the ground.
- 5). Repeat Step 4 for each of the other two bamboo poles.
