How to Shape & Dye Eyebrows
- 1). Comb your eyebrow hairs straight up with a brow brush or toothbrush, says eyebrow specialist Ramy Gafni of the Ramy Spa in New York City. Look for any hairs that extend up past your natural brow line.
- 2). Trim hairs that extend past your natural brown line with a small pair of scissors. Trim a little at a time, recommends Gafni. You can always trim again but you can't put hairs back into place.
- 3). Hold a pencil parallel to the side of your nose's bridge. The inner edge of your eyebrows should start at the pencil. Mark the spot with an eyebrow pencil and repeat for the other eye.
- 4). Hold the pencil parallel to the outside corner of the iris of your eye in order to determine where the highest point if your arch should be. Mark the spot with an eyebrow pencil and repeat for the other eye.
- 5). Angle the pencil on a diagonal from your nose to the outside corner of your eye to find where your brow should end. Mark the spot with an eyebrow pencil and repeat for the other eye.
- 6). Use sharp, angled tweezers to begin taking away the stray hairs under your brow. Shape them according to the spots you marked with eyebrow pencil.
- 7). Pluck an additional row of hair underneath the peak of your eyebrow to create a dramatic arch, "Cosmopolitan" recommends.
- 8). Use a tinted gel or powder to dye your eyebrows by following the directions on the package. Choose a color that is similar to your hair color but not exact, as this can make your brows look fake. Go for a subtle color change.
