Article Marketing Advice For Affiliate Marketers
Article marketing is a great way to promote affiliate products.
But I often see new marketers making a bunch of mistakes, and believe me, some of these mistakes can be costly.
If you want to promote affiliate products using articles, here is my advice to you.
1) Create your own website.
- Many affiliates like to link directly to the sales page directly.
They don't own the sales page.
That website belongs to the product publisher.
So what happens if the website goes under? All the links in the articles will be pointing to a non-reachable website.
That's a lot of resources going down the drain.
The solution is to create your own website, and then link to your own URLs.
On your own site, you can insert affiliate links.
2) Perform SEO for more free traffic.
- You are already publishing content, so why not perform some SEO at the same time? Note that you can't do this if you are promoting someone else's site (see above) directly.
When you promote your own site, you can use proper anchor texts so that your own content ranks well in the search engines.
For example, you can promote web hosting affiliate offers by publishing hosting reviews.
Then write articles about web hosting and submit them to article directories.
3) Build a list.
- This is a very expensive mistake.
New affiliate marketers tend to resist building a list.
They want to make money without having to come into contact with the customers.
But if you want to stay in the game for the long term, always build a list.
Without a list, you don't have a proper business because you don't have customers.
