How to Add Codecs to Premiere Pro
- 1). Right-click on the Windows “Start” button, then click “Open Windows Explorer.” The file navigator opens.
- 2). Navigate to the downloaded codec file. If the file is in ZIP format, double-click on the file to open the ZIP archive like a folder.
- 3). Right-click on the file with the “.inf” file extension to show the context menu. If you do not see file extensions for the files, click the “Tools” option on the top navigation bar in Windows Explorer, and then click “Folder Options.” The Folder Options dialog box opens. Click the “View” tab, then uncheck the option to “Hide File Extensions for Known File Types.” Click “Apply.” File extensions are now displayed in Windows Explorer.
- 4). Click the “Install” option from the context menu. A notification appears indicating that the codec will be installed.
- 5). Click “Continue.” The codec is installed to the computer and now appears in Adobe Premiere Pro.
