How to Troubleshoot an Amana TSI18A3W Refrigerator Ice Maker
- 1). Check the water shutoff valve that leads to your Amana refrigerator if your TSI18A3W refrigerator ice maker fails to produce ice. If the valve is in the off position, the ice maker will not get the water it needs to make ice, and the result can be small or hollow cubes, if any at all.
- 2). Check that the water supply line for your Amana refrigerator is connected to your home water lines. Without this connection, no water will reach your ice maker and little or no ice will be produced. A cinch or cut in the water supply line can cause the same effect. If one exists, repair it and wait to see that the ice maker is functioning properly.
- 3). Check the on/off switch on your TSI18A3W refrigerator ice maker. If it is in the off position, switch it to the on position, and wait to see that the ice maker is functioning properly.
- 4). Allow for a period of about 24 hours to pass before ice is produced if your ice maker was just installed, or if all of the accumulated ice in your ice trays has been removed. A period of as long as 72 hours may be necessary before ice is produced at maximum levels again.
- 5). Check your ice maker ejector arm for jams. Sometimes an ice cube will become lodged in the ejector arm, causing normal ice production to cease. If this is the case, use a kitchen utensil to remove the jammed cube and wait to see that the ice maker is now functioning properly.
- 6). Check the refrigerator and freezer compartments for improperly wrapped food items. When food is not wrapped, the odors it produces can contaminate other open items, including ice cubes. The result can be unpleasant tastes and smells.
