Hi. I'm Angela Price from Eden Condensed small space garden design, and this is garden space. Today, I'm going to give you some tips on how to cut fresh sage. So I think sage is one of the best herbs that you can grow in your garden. And there's several different varieties that you can choose. It's a great culinary herb. You can also dry it and use it as an herb dried. Some people like to burn it. It also acts as a insect repellant too. So there's a lot of things that you can do. This is a white sage and it's got broad leaves on it. I also have a tri-colored sage here and this one's really pretty because it has green leaves that are tipped with white and the stems are actually purple. So these make really nice additions to a perennial border. If you want to add edibles into your garden I would definitely recommend sage as one of those plants to put in. These will spread out nicely, they will mound up nicely and then you can also use them in the kitchen too. So when you're ready to use them in the kitchen a couple of things you want to do is make sure you have a pair of either herb scissors or if you have a larger sage plant, they do sometimes get a little woody underneath, you can use a pair of regular garden shears as well. And if you want to kind of trim it down, you could see the growth that's coming up underneath here and you can trim away some of the older growth on top, just by taking the older leaves here on the variegated sage. And that will also actually open up the plant underneath, get more sun to it and it'll start to mound out nice as opposed to having different shoots. The whit sage here, I like to just clip individual leaves off here because they are kind of large. And sage can be kind of potent so you don't need to use a lot of it in your cooking. But if you wanted to for example do fried sage leaves these make really nice fried sage leaves because the leaves are nice and broad. And you can just take individual cuttings off of this. If you have any other questions about how to cut fresh sage please contact me at www.edencondensed.com, and enjoy your garden. Thank you very much.
