How to Finish a Satin Border
- 1). Use pinking shears to give the raw edge of your border a zigzag shape, if desired.
- 2). Fold the edge of your border in towards the wrong side of the fabric; fold in as much or little as you want to achieve your desired length. Press the folded edge with an iron.
- 3). Set your sewing machine to a zigzag stitch. Stitch along the pressed edge of your border. Stitch again over your first row of stitches.
- 4). Press the fabric with an iron to remove any ripples. Trim the hem allowance with scissors, being careful not to cut your stitches.
