God Shall Send Them Strong Delusion That They Should Believe a Lie: 11 Thessalonians 2:11
Why would God do this? It's not hard to understand when one examines the nature of humans.
Generally most are of the type that cannot go their own way.
Those of that ilk appear to depend on leaders and guides and whatever they say is followed.
That makes them like a herd of sheep and when one views processions, pilgrimages, even protests you see the sheep all in perfect tune with each other marching in unison behind the commander.
Do they have free will? No! Do they think differently? No! Do they listen to the voice within? No! The facts are they are deaf and blind to anything not handed to them by the one in charge.
In other words they are victims of the shepherd.
That's why he is called the pastor because they are in a pastoral situation.
That's why people like the Pope carry a shepherd's pole with a circle on top.
Before they became sheep and the herd of the church other things came into play.
Such people have no spiritual input to lead them from within.
That is why they look to others to help them find salvation.
In such a situation they absorb the lessons given and they frame their minds around it.
By way of contrast those who have a spiritual link and can hear the voice within guiding them they don't need an earth bound teacher.
God has made the world the way it is for a reason and that is to make it hard for those not of the Spirit to find the truth.
The ones they follow have made it impossible for them to understand logic or to act according to their feelings.
The one at the top of the pack is the first beast of Revelation 13 described in these words with a warning: "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first; and that man of sin be revealed, the 'son of perdition'; who opposes and exalts himself above all that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God showing himself that he is God.
