Three Steps You Take to Possess God’S Unconditional Love

105 42
My attitude towards people changed, when I realized and internalized that God created every single individual in this world and loves each of us unconditionally, no matter how good or bad we are. When you grasp this, then how you look at others and respond to others will be completely different than the way you normally would have looked and responded.

If you remember from my previous article, €You€"Old, Now New!€, I mentioned if someone cuts you off in traffic, bless them. Most of us would probably respond by yelling, cursing, and possibly throwing a few hand gestures at the person. It may be hard to believe, but God loves each of us unconditionally, while disapproving of our actions. €'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,' says the LORD.€ Isaiah 55:8

We all have experienced people who have hurt us and people we don't like for a variety of reasons. As hard as it may seem to believe, God loves them. He created them as He created you, and God is their heavenly Father as well as yours. So what do you do to change your attitude? The steps below can help.

1. It doesn't mean that you have to be buddies with the people you dislike, but it does mean that you need to love them unconditionally in spite of your feelings towards them. I would even go so far as to pray for them. God can do amazing things in each individual's life€"the other person and yours.

2. When you look at that person, visually peel off the layers of the ugliness from the person and view the person as God views us, as His child whom He loves very much. By doing this, you will be amazed how differently the person will appear to you, so loving them will be so much easier. You still won't condone their actions, but you will be able to look at them differently with love.

3. When you respond, do it with love. As hard as it may be, ask God for guidance and help, but do it with love. Your response may be a criticism, but choose your words carefully with love and not in anger. The best response may be a loving silence. No matter how you choose to respond be God-like, and you will be blessed for your actions.

Following the above steps will make a difference in you. You may or may not receive the reaction you would like from the other person, but there will be a sense of peace that you did the right thing. The more you do this, it will become second nature to you, and people will know and feel your love.

€Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.€ Luke 6:27-28
