How to Disable a Wireless Alarm
- 1). Unplug the power cord connected to the wireless control panel from the AC socket that is providing it with power. Remove the screws holding the wireless control panel to the wall if it is wall mounted with a Phillips screwdriver. Open the wireless control panel's battery compartment lid on its back with your fingers. If a screw is on the lid, remove the screw first with a Phillips jeweler's screwdriver. Remove the backup batteries from inside the battery compartment.
- 2). Unplug the sensor cable connected to the window security sensor from the input port on the wireless receiver that is nearby. If the sensor cable is permanently attached between the sensor and the receiver, turn the receiver over and remove the battery compartment lid on the back. You may need to unscrew the receiver from the wall first with a Phillips screwdriver if adhesive is not being used to hold the receiver to the wall. Remove the batteries from inside the battery compartment. Repeat this procedure with all of the sensors that are in the home.
- 3). Enter your previously set password into the keypad on the wireless control panel. Access the menu settings on the control panel and select the "System Setup" (or compatible) menu. Select the "Network" (or compatible) menu. Change the network channel that connects the wireless control panel to the other modules of the wireless alarm system. Return the menu to its initial setting to save the network channel setting that the wireless control panel will now use and to eliminate the connection between it and the other modules of the wireless alarm system.
