How to Make Your Own Personalized E-Card

    • 1). Select an image to use, either a personal photo or one from a free online site.

    • 2). Prepare the photo for your e-card by using a photo-editing application, if desired.. Save it under a new name after all changes have been made.

    • 3). Open Microsoft Publisher Catalog and choose "Blank Publications." Select "Postcard" and click "Create."

    • 4). Use the options found on the left under "Quick Publication Wizard" to add a design, choose a color scheme and select a layout for your e-card.

    • 5). To alter an existing picture layout, right-click on the photo field, choose "Change Picture," then "Picture," then "From File." Locate your photo and click "Insert."

    • 6). Add a photo to a blank space by using the Picture Frame Tool. Click on the tool icon and use your mouse to create the frame for your photo. Double-click inside the frame and locate your picture, then click "Insert."

    • 7). Use either the Text Frame Tool or WordArt Frame Tool to add text to your e-card. Click the icon and use your mouse to select the location, then type your words in the space provided.

    • 8). Make any additional changes desired. Insert more photos, clip art or other graphics you want, or move items around on the card.

    • 9). Choose "Select All" from the Edit menu. Click on the "Group Objects" icon that appears. Right-click on it and choose "Copy."

      Open your IrfanView program. Click on the clipboard to insert your e-card.

      Name and save your e-card as a JPEG.

      Send the personalized e-card you created by attaching it to an email.
