How to Submit a Business Plan
- 1). Check the guidelines for the company you plan to submit your funding proposal to. Some companies may request an executive summary, or a business plan in a condensed format. This can be two to four pages long, which Asset Management requests, or no longer than three pages, as required by Southwest Venture Forum.

Gather together all necessary documents as requested by the company. Some companies have a specific business plan format they want you to follow. Other companies, such as Capricorn Venture Partners, request to have specific information within your presentation. These include but are not limited to: targeted market report, go-to-market strategies, market landscape and barriers to entry, and business model, pricing and strategy. Other companies may want to see resume(s) of the founding member(s) and/or a brief history of the business/invention. - 3

Verify how and when the investment firm wants the business plan presented. Southwest Venture Forum will accept business plans through regular mail or email. But they request business plans to be sent in by specific deadline dates. Capricorn Venture Partners requests contact with the entrepreneur before a business plan is sent to them. Pappas Ventures has an online form that requests attachments including the business plan and supporting documents.
