The Power and Purpose of the Cross Can Change Lives

The Human Mind's Power and Purpose The human mind is an amazing machine.
It can recall past events, understand situations, solve complicated problems and run a complex machine all at the same time.
The human brain weighs on average about 3lbs.
and contains 200 Billion neurons.
The neurons are the nerves and electrical centers of the brain.
Somehow through electrical impulses and chemical reactions the brain can do amazing things.
In relation to other mammals, humans contain the largest brains per body size; when compared to a bottle nose dolphin the human brain is almost twice as large and almost three times as large as a chimpanzee.
With that said, when someone puts their mind to something, along with the purpose, the drive and the power to achieve it, the goal can most likely be accomplished.
All we have to do is look around to see the results of that determination.
The space shuttles, skyscrapers, the channel tunnel between England and France, even the incandescent light bulb.
Thomas Edison tested more than 1,600 different materials that could be used to make the filament for a house hold electric light bulb.
Jesus' Power and Purpose Just as our power and purpose can be set to do and make amazing things, so is Jesus' power and purpose.
The significance of the Cross in helping us to understand what Jesus did for us is very important.
Jesus is God in the flesh.
He chose to come to earth and live as one of us, to show us and teach us the proper way to live.
He also understood our inherent problem; we are sinful beings with no way to fix or correct it.
The symbol of the Cross has power and purpose when we stop and think about what it represents.
Jesus, God in the flesh came to die on the Cross to save us from death and sin.
Jesus took on ALL of our sins and banished them to the darkest recesses of eternity; He rose on the third day to show His power over death.
Jesus shed His blood for all.
God uses the Cross as a reminder to the world of what He did for all of us.
Jesus' suffering and sacrifice on the Cross was for all and is a free gift to those who accept Him.
He conquered sin and death for us and all He wishes of us is to believe on Him and He will grant us eternal life with Him.
The Power of the Cross can Change Lives Jesus lived, died and rose again for us.
Not to make us "religious" people who simply attends church services, church dinners and fund raisers, but He did so, to transform us into people who are "Christ Like" or Christians.
His hope for us is to live with Him for eternity in Heaven.
There has become a lot of emphasis placed on the "symbols" of Christianity rather than the purpose and meaning of Christianity.
Crosses are one of the most important examples of this.
Many people wear crosses, some are completely unaware of the true meaning of the cross, the Cross of Jesus.
The Cross was a rigorous tool of death, just like the electric chair in the USA, yet Christians view the Cross as a symbol of their faith to God.
God's Scripture tells us the Cross has the power to change our life.
Because of the Cross we receive forgiveness for our sins, faith, hope and love.
The Cross of Jesus has immeasurable power.
Jesus knew the Cross was the purpose of His calling.
He was born and lived to die on the Cross so our sins could be forgiven.
He knew that dying on the Cross was God's will for Him and that He would pay the debt of sin that we as humans could not pay! While Jesus was dying a painful death, there was a Roman officer standing at the foot of the Cross.
This officer had witnessed this many times, but this time the crucifixion was very different.
In Mark 15:39, the officer said "...
Truly this man was the Son of God.
