Mystery Binder Cover Ideas
- The 1999 film "The Matrix" features an automated number generator. Showcase these mysterious characters and see if you and your friends can code any information. Print out your own numbers on photocopy paper or write your own code on black paper, using neon green paint. After the ink or paint is dry, wrap the paper around the binder and secure with glue.
- To make a simple spooky themed binder, cut out a circular piece of tin foil. Use rubber cement or similar adhesive to apply the foil directly on an upper corner of the binder. Decorate the remainder of the cover with silver stars stickers. You can also draw a silhouette of a wolf on construction paper and cut it out. Paste that on the bottom of the cover. To keep your cutouts in place, cover with a laminate sheet.
- If you've ever watched a spy thriller movie, you're likely familiar with a dossier, or folder, stamped with the words "Confidential" or "Top Secret." Keep others guessing the contents of your documents by making your own stamps. Use block letter stencils to trace the words directly onto the binder. To make the stamp look more authentic, angle the letters at a slant and use all caps. Paint or color in the words with red permanent marker or paint. Use a ruler to draw a box around the text.
- If you want the binder, itself, to be the mystery, disguise it as another object. For example, you can cover it in gift wrapping paper and tie with a bow to deceive others into thinking it's a present. Another idea is to glue a padded manila envelope on the cover, so the binder looks like it's a plain envelope. Other simple disguises include newspaper, fabric and mailing paper, with a string tied around it, so it looks like a mystery package.
