How to Choose Aluminum Tables
- 1). Decide on a shape for your aluminum table. Aluminum tables generally come in two shapes: a square or a circle. This is especially true of patio furniture. However, you can also find oval-shaped tables, rectangular-shaped tables and other custom shapes.
- 2). Pick the size of aluminum table you need. Tables meant for camping are typically smaller because these tables are easier to carry, while patio tables are larger because the tables aren't moved often. You can usually find tables two feet wide and some that are larger and fit up to eight people at a time.
- 3). Determine the type of top that you want on an aluminum table. There are tables with plain tabletops made of aluminum, but there are many other types available. One popular look, especially for vintage-inspired tables, has a glass top. You can also find steel and wood tops on an aluminum base. Another option is a cross-hatch top, which uses two types of materials, woven together to create the top of the table.
- 4). Look at the weight of the table and consider the area where you live. Aluminum tables are typically lightweight, which works well as a patio table or camping table, but is also more likely to move from simple wind gusts. Heavier aluminum tables that use glass or steel in the construction or tables that include weights on the bottom, which prevents the table from flying away, are better choices for windy areas.
- 5). Consider your needs. The right type of table really depends on its function. A steel base table with an aluminum top works well inside your home or in restaurants. A folding lightweight aluminum table is best for camping and almost all aluminum tables work well on a patio.
