How to Draw Temporary Lines on Gimp
- 1). Open the GIMP program.
- 2). Click the “File” menu. A list of commands appears.
- 3). Click “Open.” A gallery of image thumbnails appears on the Open Image dialog window.
- 4). Click to select the image.
- 5). Click “Open.” The image expands to a screen.
- 6). Click to select a tool on the toolbox. For example, click the Paintbrush or Pencil tools.
- 7). Click in the image where you wish to insert the start point for the temporary line. A small dot appears on the image.
- 8). Press and hold down the “Shift” key. The cursor converts to a “+” symbol. A line extends between the starting point and the cursor.
- 9). Keep holding down the “Shift” key as you position the cursor over the end of the line. Click the mouse to mark the end point of the line. The line forms between the two points.

Release the “Shift” key. The line inserts in the image. The cursor detaches from the line and can move freely.
