How to Make a Children's Room Divider
- 1). Mount a sturdy curtain rod on the ceiling where you want the room to be divided. Install the rod into studs or use anchors so it is firmly attached.
- 2). Purchase fabric that is as wide as the curtain rod and at least 6 inches longer than the ceiling height. Wash the fabric to preshrink it.
- 3). Iron no-sew fabric tape onto the fabric to create a double-fold hem on each end. Fold the fabric under by 3/4 of an inch and iron it, then fold the folded fabric under a second time and iron it with the tape inside the fold.
- 4). Attach curtain rings and clamps to the fabric and hang the divider.
- 5). Mount a tieback post on the wall and use a belt, necklace, fabric or rope to tie the divider back when not in use.
