Barbecue Chicken – All Time Family Favorite

Chicken is what most people like to cook in terms of meat. This is not only meat that is high in protein but also in cholesterol and fat. That's why the consumption of this ingredient must be only taken one step at a time. The kinds of recipes that involve chicken for your diet must be also chosen carefully. It means that you look for food recipes that are healthier such as low in fat and calorie.

One of the favorite dishes of most families is barbecue chicken. This is a meal known by almost everyone of all ages. Children love to dip this kind of barbecue in a sauce. Teens enjoy a sumptuous meal with chicken barbecue on their plate. Adults love to prepare and grill the same kind of barbecue. It seems that everyone in the family really likes to have chicken barbecue.

The Ingredients of a Chicken Barbecue

You have to marinate chicken first before you grill or put it in an oven. The tastiness and richness of the barbecue flavor depend on two things which are the marinade and the sauce. Obviously, you have to do the marinade first so you must be very familiar regarding how to make a marinade for barbecue chicken. The ingredients included are a combination of soy sauce, garlic, onion, cayenne pepper powder and vegetable oil. This is the marinade wherein you soak the chicken for several hours. The longer it is soaked and marinated the better the flavor is.

The Grilling Process

Prepare your griller by pouring some oil, vegetable oil or any low fat oil. Turn the griller on for a few minutes before you put any cuts of marinated chicken on it. This is to ensure there is enough amount of heat and the meat is not going to stick on the griller. When you grill your chicken, make sure that you stay with it so you can avoid overcooking it. Once the meat is overcooked, the juicy flavor of it is going to be missed out. That can spoil your supposed-to-be-enjoyable meal time.

Optional Cooking

Meat like chicken must be thoroughly cooked but you cannot just grill it within a few minutes or more than the expected time as it can be overcooked. So, the alternative is to put it in the over and precook it for some quick minutes. This is to make the meat preheated without blackening the surface. At least, when you bake or cook it in the oven, the inside of the meat is somewhat cooked. This is easier to grill even for only several minutes.

Another option before you grill the chicken for barbecue is to steam it. Pour enough water in a pot and let it boil. However, you must do this before you soak it in a marinade. You cannot marinate the chicken first before you boil it then grill it afterwards. Otherwise, the barbecue flavor won't give any much goodness in terms of the taste of the entire chicken.
