How to Broil Steak Filets
- 1). Place steak filets on the kitchen counter until at room temperature.
- 2). Preheat your broiler for 15 minutes, oil the broiling rack and place it in the broiler pan.
- 3). Pat steaks dry with a clean dishcloth and lightly rub oil over the filets. Season all sides with salt and pepper. Lay steak filets on the broiling-pan rack.
- 4). Broil steaks three inches from heat for four to five minutes per side for medium rare, or to desired doneness. Keep an eye on your steaks to keep from burning.
- 5). Transfer the steaks to a cutting board and loosely cover them with aluminum foil. Let steaks rest for five minutes before slicing.
