There is a lot of debt services companies out there these days.
They all supposedly want to "help" you.
It may be difficult to find one that is trustworthy.
Christian debt service companies are no different from any other.
Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing.
The scam artists are out in full force.
They want to prey upon the weak and injured.
Some Christian debt services are luring people in by using the angle of getting you the best interest rate.
In reality, these consolidation companies whether Christian or not only have one purpose.
They want to take advantage of you and your money.
Some of these debt services are just using the "Christian" name to capitalize on the hardships of others.
They are taking full advantage of those who fall victim to our current economical downswing.
To protect yourself from fraud, you should do your homework.

They monitor all the debt services companies that are out there.

recently exposed several fraudulent debt services companies, including some non-profit organizations which were Christian affiliated.
The National Consumer Law Center and the Consumer Federation of America helped to uncover the fraud that these companies were committing.
They were claiming to "help" consumers to eliminate their debt entirely.
They were offering the wrong advice to their clients.
They taking hard earned money from them which they knew their clients couldn't afford.
Although the companies involved were penalized for false advertisement and shady practices, this is the sad reality of this industry.
Kicking someone when they are already down is not very honorable.
They were charging clients extra on top of their fees.
These organizations are no different from anyone else.
They chose to be dishonest.
They toke advantage of those who were at their lowest point in life financially.
There are some Christian debt services out there that are legit.
A lot of them can offer you the best plan for lower interest rates but you just got to ask you're self, "is it really necessary for me to pay someone else for something I can do on my own?" In either case, it would be wise for you to do your homework and check on the company's background information before you sign any agreements.
