How to Recycle Paper Supplies

104 11

    Sort the Paper Supplies

    • 1). Divide your paper supplies into separate bins for recycling depending upon type.

    • 2). Place newspaper into its own bin, plastic lined paper (check with your local recycling company to make sure they accept this form of paper) into its own bin, corrugated cardboard in its own bin and all other paper products into another bin.

    • 3). Place laminated papers, cardboard, stickers and carbon paper into the trash, as these cannot be recycled.

Prepare and Send Paper Supplies to the Recycler

    • 1). Check all paper supplies for rubber bands or plastic wrap. If these items are present, you must remove them before the paper is recycled.

    • 2). Look through your corrugated cardboard and make sure it is not wet, sticky or greasy. If it is, or if it has a waxy or plastic coating, you may not recycle it.

    • 3). Flatten out all corrugated cardboard so that you can stack it and tie it together with a string. Check with your local recycling company beforehand to find out if there are any size or weight limits placed on the stacks.

    • 4). Set your sorted bins of paper supplies, along with any corrugated cardboard stacks curbside on the day that your local recycling company specifies for pick-up.

    • 5). Call local recycling companies if pick-up is not available to determine if you may deliver your paper supplies to their location for recycling.
