Mas Amiel is the leading impendent producer of fortified wines in the Maury region of France. The Maury appellation is one of the most remote in France, but has become famous for their Grenache Noir wines that are similar to vintage Port. A Breif History
Mas Amiel is the largest producer in Maury and can be found just below the magnificent ruined castle of Queribus. The appellation was founded in 1816 when Raymond Amiel won the deeds to the land in a game of cards! From there these wines were born.
How Does It taste?
These wines are generally a rich, inky black colour, which comes from the Grenache grapes used in many of their wines. The palate will be full of dominating fruitful and spice flavours.
