How to Make Curtains With Felt
- 1). Trace a round object, about 3 inches in diameter, repeatedly onto the entire surface of a piece of felt large enough to cover the window. Trace smooth circles in orderly rows and columns as far as possible, but don't be afraid of a little irregularity -- unevenness lends a certain homemade charm.
- 2). Cut all the circles out. Unless you have a very small window, this will take up the lion's share of the time allotted to the project, so be patient.
- 3). Sew the pieces together into rows, running a single stitch down the middle of each felt circle. Create rows wide enough to cover the window until you've used up all the circles you cut out.
- 4). Sew the rows together in columns, again running a single stitch through each circle but this time perpendicularly.
- 5). Tack the top row to the wall above your window to install the curtain.
