2008 Tuxedo Cats Picture Gallery: Velvet
What a serendipitous for such a sweet cat.
Velvet is the joy of my life. She came to us in the middle of the winter of 2006-7. She appeared at the patio window one VERY cold January day, shivering, and very thin. As she was a bit distrustful, I began feeding her out side, and she would eat, then leave, arriving again several times a day. As we live on a farm, I knew that she would be getting shelter in the large round hay bales, we have stored.
After about 10 days, she began jumping at the door, to let me know she was wanting dinner!
One evening, I opened the door, and she came in! At that time, we had christened her "Short Stay," as we had always thought that she was just visiting; perhaps her owners were away for awhile, and she would leave and never come back.
As time went on, she became more comfortable with our home, and our two other cats, both Siamese, Buck and Molly. She has now been with us close to a year and a half. We now call her "Velvet," as with good food, and our love, she boasts a gorgeous velvety black coat.
Buck doesn't mind her, but Molly , although tolerating her, still considers herself the Queen of our home, and any other cat is simply a servant. Velvet doesn't seem to understand, or care!
Bed time finds all three cats, myself and a husband, fighting for room. Each and every one, has their spot. We are all happy!
