How to Attach Beans to a Trellis
- 1). Place the trellis in the garden where you will plant the bean seeds. Pound the trellis firmly into the ground with a mallet for stability.
- 2). Plant the bean seed at the base of the trellis according to seed package instructions. Seedlings should appear in a week or less.
- 3). Weave or wrap the young bean vines carefully into the lower end of the trellis when the plants are 6 to 7 inches tall.
- 4). Continue to weave or wrap the vines around the trellis if needed. In most cases, the beans, once they have found their pole, will grow naturally on the trellis.
