Homemade Aerator Lawn Tool
- 1). Remove the plastic cleats from the bottom of the golf shoes. Turn them to the left by hand or use the tool that came with the cleats to remove them.
- 2). Insert the metal gold spikes into the bottom of the golf shoes. Use the tool that came in the package to tighten and secure the metal spikes.
- 3). Lightly water your yard with a garden house. This will moisten the ground and make the aeration process easier.
- 4). Take the golf shoes outside and sit on the edge of your back porch or deck and then put the golf shoes on your feet.
- 5). Walk in a slow pace over your yard in a specific pattern. This can be from front to back or from side to side. Use a bit of force when you step down to make sure the spikes are puncturing the soil.
- 6). Repeat this process as often as necessary to aerate your yard.
