How to Fix a Stain on Black Wood
- 1). Apply equal amounts of non-gel toothpaste and baking soda directly onto the stain. Rub the mixture into the stain with a microfiber cloth to remove the stain. If the stain remains after a couple of attempts, proceed to Step 2.
- 2). Pour a small amount of olive oil into a mixing bowl and add 1 tablespoon of table salt. Mix the two ingredients together until it forms a paste-like consistency. Spread the paste over the stain on the black wood and rub it in gently. Allow it to sit for 50 to 60 minutes then wipe it away with a microfiber cloth. Should the stain still be visible, remove it by following Step 3.
- 3). Apply a dab of petroleum jelly onto the stain and let soak into it for an hour to 90 minutes. Dampen a microfiber cloth with plain tap water and wipe away the petroleum jelly. Rinse the area with a clean, dry microfiber cloth to completely remove the stain.
