How to Remove Adhesive Tape From a Front Load Washing Machine
- 1). Put on rubber gloves. Saturate a cotton ball with mineral oil, as the Natural Handyman advises. You can use baby oil, which is scented, or pure mineral oil for this.
- 2). Rub the cotton ball over the adhesive tape, including around all edges. If there is a lot of tape, you may need to re-saturate the cotton ball to coat the entire length of tape.
Alternatively, according to the site Octane Creative, you can spray the tape with WD-40 to loosen the adhesive. - 3). Use a rubber-tipped scraper to gently scrape away the tape. Apply more mineral oil or WD-40 if it isn't coming off the washing machine easily.
- 4). Apply more mineral oil, using a cotton ball, or WD-40 to leftover residue on the machine after you've removed all of the tape. For large areas, use a cloth to remove residue.
- 5). Wet a sponge in warm water. Apply a small drop of dish detergent to the sponge. Rub this over the area of the washing machine to remove the leftover oil or WD-40 residue.
