How to Use Beeswax on Cards
- 1). Pour water into the bottom pan of your double boiler, up to the line where the top pan rests. Place the top pan over the bottom, and place it on the stove to heat at medium-high heat.
- 2). Pour your wax pellets into the top pan, and allow them to melt. Remove the pan from the stove as soon as the wax has completely melted, to avoid overheating it.
- 3). Use a new paintbrush to carefully brush a thin coating of wax onto your greeting card. Allow the layer to dry completely.
- 4). Arrange photos or clippings on your card in a design that is visually appealing. Apply a layer of beeswax over the photos or clippings and allow this next layer to dry completely.
- 5). Cut lengths of lace or ribbon to lay on the edges of your card. Place the lengths along the edges, and apply wax over them. Again, allow the wax to dry.
- 6). Use your craft iron to melt the tip of a crayon, and hold the crayon over your card. The crayon will drop colored spots onto your card. Seal the dried spots with your wax.
