How to Draw Halo People
- 1). Draw the basic shape of the large-bodied Brute. Brutes have large, thick arms and legs with a muscular torso to match. Aim for proportion over detail, while focusing on making the arms and legs equal in length and width.
- 2). Choose body armor for your Brute to wear, if any. The higher the Brute's ranking, the more elaborate the costume it wears. Low-ranking Brutes are seen with a simple functional helmet and bandolier, while Brute Chieftains dress in massive, elaborate headdresses and full body armor. Draw the geometrical shapes of the body armor over the Brute sketch.
- 3). Sketch wavy lines on the Brute's outline that aren't covered with armor to emphasize the aliens' body hair. Brutes are covered with a thick coat of hair except for their faces, feet, knees and hands.
- 4). Pencil in details for the Brute character. Brutes have four clawed fingers on each paw, and thick rhino-like feet with two toes apiece. Brutes have facial features similar to a gorilla and a bear, with a prominent brow, large rounded nostrils, and a wide mouth full of long canine teeth.
- 5). Illustrate a weapon for the cruel alien to wield. Brutes are unique among the Covenant, as they use their own unique set of weapons. Their arms are often bladed and designed to inflict a large amount of pain. Examples include the Gravity Hammer, Incendiary Grenade and Mauler.
- 6). Highlight the outlines of the Brute so the colors stand out against the image using a black marker. Trace the Brute's outline with either thick or thin strokes of the marker for different stylistic effects.
- 7). Color the Brute with paint, crayons, colored pencils or any other medium that you enjoy. Brute fur ranges from brown, black and white for elders. The colors of a Brute's armor ranges wildly between members, including gold, red, blue and teal. A Brute's skin is always an elephant gray shade, with little variation.
