What exactly is a split board?
Definition: A Split Board is a snowboard designed to provide easy access to backcountry snowboarding terrain. The board splits lengthwise down the middle and features special bindings that rotate to face forward, effectively transforming the snowboard into two skis for accessing backcountry terrain. Once the user is atop their intended descent, the board is clicked back together, bindings are rotated, and the rider is able to snowboard as normal.
