Gossip is part of our everyday lives today. Even the nightly news offers morsels of Hollywood gossip. Yet, we often place a great deal of emphasis on being "in the know," and that leads to rumor-mongering. We thrive on that little piece of information, because we often think it gives us power.
However, rumors and gossip can be incredibly damaging to people. Think about when someone said something false about you. How did you feel? The Bible tells us to be wary of gossip. Pray this week about gossip you have heard or the times you have spread a rumor and ask God to free you from the need to spread that gossip.
