Comparing Espresso Machines, Finding the Perfect Cup of Coffee at Home

One of the most difficult things about being a Coffee Lover is purchasing the appropriate equipment to brew the perfect Coffee at home.
This started for me years ago after owning a Café for 7 years and becoming quite addicted to the daily cuppa (4 or 5 a day to be precise) the withdrawals and the constant dash to the local cafe for my daily fix was becoming quite frustrating.
In the cafe I used a Boema Professional Espresso Machine, the fresh coffee beans were ground to perfection, my staff was well trained to make consistently good coffee, so yes I was spoilt for those years and great coffee helped me through those years of daily 10 hour shifts.
After selling my cafe and venturing into new opportunities the need for a good Home Espresso Coffee Machine was inevitable, so with further a-do I found the ultimate home coffee espresso machine and made my purchase of more than $2000.
What I thought I was buying was a fantastic Machine it was shiny and expensive and well it just did not work.
Now in those early years of Home Espresso Machines there was not much choice and no reviews, so I did not have much to compare too, except price and looks.
This machine just did not function as well as I thought it should, it had no pressure and cooled down after the first cup, the crema was inconsistent, then my brother brought a machine that was about a third of the price that made better coffee but not great.
So then with asking the right people and my experience I got the opportunity to test drive 6 of the more popular home espresso machines, including the Delongi, Sunbeam, Nespresso, Espressione, Jura Capresso z5 and the Gaggia 14101, now these machines can make all types of hot drinks, including coffee, espresso and cappuccino.
They are all leading brands but they are all so different.
The first thing you notice about these machines is that they are all very well built.
They all had stainless steel housing, a high-power bar pump and a high-watt heater that makes coffee quickly and easily.
Some have brass components that are typically found on expensive commercial models and they all are far more advanced than my first Home Espresso Machine One thing I really liked was the Gaggia 14101 with its versatility of being able to use coffee pods as well as the double shot group, that's exactly what I needed in a home coffee machine and it doesn't take up much counter space as well.
With the Gaggia 14101 you can make every type of specialty coffee drink as well as providing you with plenty of hot water for making tea or hot chocolate.
When looking for a new coffee or espresso machine, make sure you spend time researching and reviewing all the models and what suits you and remember expensive is not necessarily the best.
