What Is a Dell Axim?
- The Dell Axim is a family of personal digital assistants developed by Dell. Dell Axims were designed to run on Windows Mobile. Windows Mobile, also known as Windows Phone, is a mobile operating system launched by Microsoft and specifically designed to operate on mobile and smart phone devices.
- Features of the Dell Axim vary per model.The Dell Axim X51, the most recently released in the Axim family, contains standard PDA features such as wireless capabilities, handwriting recognition and a touch screen. It also features Bluetooth capabilities, CompactFlash and SD (Secure Digital) expansion card slots, VGA-out functionality, which allows a PDA to connect to a monitor, and 16 MB (megabyte) video RAM (random access memory).
- The Dell Axim X51 was the final Axim model introduced, and was discontinued in 2007.
