How to Install an HP Webcam on an HP Laptop
- 1). Insert installation disc that came with your HP webcam.
- 2). Follow the instructions that appear on screen in order to install the webcam's driver and default software onto your laptop. If the installation file does not appear automatically, open your My Computer window via the Start Menu, right click the CD drive, and click "Play."
- 3). Restart your computer if prompted to do so by the installer. This will ensure that the webcam's driver has been properly installed on your computer.
- 4). Plug the webcam's USB connector into a free USB port on your computer. Most HP laptops have USB ports on the sides of the machine.
- 5). Wait a minute or two while Windows discovers, recognizes and connects the webcam to the driver you just installed.
- 6). Navigate to your Start Menu and click the "Programs" menu.
- 7). Open the "HP Webcam Direct" application. Your webcam should automatically turn on and you should now see yourself on your screen.
