How Do I Upgrade My Dell Optiplex GX1 BIOS?
- 1). Browse to the download page for the Dell OptiPlex GX1 BIOS upgrade (see Resources). Click the link to download the file "BGX1_A10.exe" and save the file to your desktop.
- 2). Insert the blank preformatted floppy disk and double-click the file "BGX1_A10.exe" on the desktop.
- 3). Click the "Setup" button. A command prompt window opens and prompts you to insert a blank formatted disk. Press "Enter" twice, then press "Y" and "Enter" again to create the disk. The command prompt closes when the procedure is complete.
- 4). Leave the completed BIOS update disk in the drive and restart the OptiPlex GX1. The computer boots from the floppy disk and, after a moment, the blue Dell "Flash BIOS Update Program" loads.
- 5). Press "Enter" and then press "Y" twice to complete the BIOS update process. Remove the floppy disk when prompted and restart your computer to boot back into Windows.
