How to Clean Marble Naturally
- 1). Combine 2 cups water, 1 tsp. Castile soap, ¾ cup hydrogen peroxide, ½ cup distilled vinegar, 20 drops tea tree oil and 20 drops of lavender oil into an empty spray bottle. Castile soap, tea tree oil and lavender oil can all be purchased at most health food stores.
- 2). Shake the bottle gently to combine the ingredients thoroughly. Spray the cleaning solution on the marble surface.
- 3). Wipe the surface clean with a soft, damp cloth. Dry the marble completely with a clean rag. Avoid letting the cleaner sit on the marble. Marble is a porous stone; water marks may be left if the marble is not dried thoroughly.
- 4). Make a paste of baking soda, lemon juice and water for an alternative natural marble cleaner. This is ideal for removing stains from marble. Rub the paste into the marble using a soft cloth. Rinse the surface with a clean, wet rag and dry completely.
- 5). Apply powdered starch to stains that are tough on marble. Allow the starch to penetrate the stain for a few minutes, then wipe it clean with warm water.
- 6). Use an eco-friendly dish soap and warm water for the simplest cleaning method. Wash the marble surface with a soft rag and soapy water. Dry the surface thoroughly. Seventh Generation and Palmolive Pure and Clear are just a couple of examples of environmentally friendly dish soaps.
