Cleaning and Reinstalling the Printhead

• Before spending money on a new printhead, it may be worth it to try and clean or reinstall the printhead to see if it fixes the "wrong cartridge" error.
  
  To clean the printhead on a Canon Multipass F30 printer, first select printer settings by pressing the Menu button until Printer Settings appears. Then press the Set button twice.   Once your new printhead comes in, remove your old printhead by opening the scanner assembly (press the Open button on the right side of the printer) while the printer is on. The printhead will move to the center. Then raise the gray lock lever and lift the old printhead free. Remember to remove all of your ink cartridges from the old printhead. Open your new printhead, flip it over to remove the protective tape from the nozzles and place the new printhead into the printhead holder. Lower the gray lock arm until the printhead is secure.
  
  Insert your ink cartridges, close the scanner assembly and try printing once again.
