Summer camps in Colorado for girls include the traditional outdoor adventures, such as horseback riding, hiking and fishing. Another option is attending a dance training camp. The benefits of summer camp are huge, such as confidence building, independence, adventure and friendships. Many parents chose to send their children to girls-only camps because girls are less self-conscious and inhibited in learning when boys are not present. - Professional dance training for girls of all abilities are offered at camps.girl dancing image by Peter Baxter from Fotolia.com

Although summer camp is not the same as school, research has consistently shown that all girl learning is better for girls than co-education, Inzlicht & Ben Zeev, 2003. In single-sex learning there is less gender stereotyping, which limits girls severely.
