Fresh air, scented with pine and spruce. Rushing streams with waterfalls, big and small. Forested trails that emerge to stunning views of the surrounding territory. When these things beckon, it's time to plan a mountain getaway. Luckily, Oregon is rich in great mountain and forest getaways that offer year-round recreation along with all the modern comforts.
Here are my picks for resorts and hotels where you can enjoy a refreshing Oregon mountain getaway.

Rustic yet elegant, Timberline Lodge provides many modern comforts and amenities to enhance your mountain adventure. The Cascade Dining Room offers fine dining featuring local ingredients and stunning views of Mt. Hood. The lobby at Timberline Lodge is a wonderful place to hang out by the huge hexagonal fireplace. In the summer you can enjoy skiing and mountain biking at the resort on the same day, as well as hiking and climbing. Venture out into nearby Mt.
