How to Run an XP Installation From a Flash Drive
- 1). Download the WinToFlash zip file.
- 2). Uncompress WinToZip by right-clicking the file and selecting "Extract."
- 3). Double-click WinToFlash.exe to install the program.
- 4). Click on "Accept" and the check mark button to start the wizard.
- 5). Click "Next" to proceed to the path selection screen.
- 6). Select the drive the Windows XP install CD is in for the "Windows files path" and the drive that Windows designated for your USB drive in "USB drives." Click "Next."
- 7). Accept the terms by clicking "Continue" and then "OK" to format the USB drive and begin installation.
- 8). Wait for WinToFlash to install the CD image to your USB and then click "Next" and "Exit" when done.
- 1). Change the boot order in your BIOS to start with USB drive first. Most computers allow you to enter the BIOS during boot up with the "Del" or "F2" key. Consult your computer's manual for your computer's specific BIOS configuration.
- 2). Restart your computer and boot from the USB drive.
- 3). Install Microsoft Windows XP as you normally would.
