Ideas for Country & Western Wedding Centerpieces

    Choose Appropriate Flowers

    • Wildflowers are a way to add a country note to your centerpieces without going over the top. Colorado Weddings suggests choosing pretty bouquets of local wildflowers or asking your florist to track down sweet pea, cornflowers, sunflowers, black eye Susans or zinnias for your floral centerpieces. If you're into risks, include cactus or sagebrush in your arrangements. You can include these country blooms in more traditional floral arrangements or let them take center stage on their own.

    Contain Your Style

    • Choosing country and western-themed containers is an easy way to bring a touch of cowboy chic to your centerpieces. Skip the vases and opt for old-fashioned mason jars or tin pails instead. For big arrangements, try galvanized tubs tied with raffia or gingham ribbons or spackled enamelware pots or dishes. Cowboy boots and cowboy hats make quirky containers for floral arrangements -- just be sure to slip a vase or jar inside to hold water safely.

    Add a Few Accessories

    • It's not difficult to round up western-themed accessories; many work well as additions to an existing tablescape or eye-catching arrangements in their own right. Wagon wheels can provide support and height for a floral arrangement or serve as spectacular elevated centerpieces. Horseshoes can blend into a tablescape or you can paint and personalize them to make creative place cards that march down the center of the table. Small bales of hay and kerosene lanterns also add western flair.

    Add a Little Fabric

    • Rustic fabrics, in the form of ribbons, runners, wraps and napkins, can be a pretty way to add country style to your centerpieces. Choose burlap for truly rustic vibe, or opt for a pretty take on country style with old-fashioned prints like gingham and calico in your wedding colors. If your celebration is a casual one, wrap bandannas around baskets, vases and other table decor for a colorful western accent.
