How to Paint a Jacuzzi
- 1). Wash the Jacuzzi to promote adhesion. A trisodium phosphate cleanser will remove unseen residues better than ordinary soap. Rinse the Jacuzzi with wet rags and let the Jacuzzi dry for two hours.
- 2). Sand the Jacuzzi to enhance adhesion, as primer and paint won't stick well to slick surfaces. Scour the Jacuzzi until all surfaces to be painted feel rough.
- 3). Cover each part of the Jacuzzi that should remain unpainted, using masking paper and tape.
- 4). Coat the Jacuzzi with acrylic primer, using a mini roller. Paint the lower floor portion of the reservoir first, then proceed to the rising horizontal walls. Immediately prime the outer lip, using a soft-bristled synthetic polyester brush. Let the Jacuzzi dry for two hours.
- 5). Wash the synthetic brush and mini roller with tap water.
- 6). Paint the Jacuzzi as you primed it. An epoxy finish will offer the highest durability.
