How to Get Lipstick Out of a Uniform
- 1). Soak a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol and blot the stain. You can also use a white towel soaked in cold water to blot the stain if rubbing alcohol isn't readily available.
- 2). Add 1 to 2 tsp. of laundry detergent or dish soap onto the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes. Use your fingertips to massage the soap or detergent into the fabric. Oil-based lipstick may break down easier with dish soap because of its oil- and grease-fighting ingredients.
- 3). Put the uniform in the washing machine and set it to a gentle, cold-water setting. Another option is to hand-wash the uniform in cold water. Let the uniform sit in the water for 10 minutes before scrubbing it.
- 4). Remove the uniform from the water or machine and lay it out flat to dry.
- 1). Spray the lipstick with an aerosol hairspray. Hold the can 1 to 2 inches from the spot and spray it until the stain is coated. Leave the hairspray on for 10 to 15 minutes.
- 2). Blot the lipstick with a white towel moistened in warm water.
- 3). Put the uniform in the washing machine for a cold water wash. Lay it out flat to dry.
- 1). Blot the stain with ammonia on a cotton ball or white cloth.
- 2). Hand-wash the uniform in water and dish soap to remove the lipstick. Prior to scrubbing, let the uniform soak for 10 minutes.
- 3). Lay the uniform flat to dry.
